Introduction
On the basis of the
concepts of sharing resources and promoting the use of precious
instruments, the Instruments Center at National Chung Cheng University
was founded in December, 2000 and became one of nine national
instruments centers supported by National Science Council. The main
goal of the Instruments Center is to consolidate, manage and maintain
the precious instruments in CCU and to provide efficient and perfect
service to all users. The Center has eight modern instruments
including 400 MHz and 500 MHz nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)
spectrometers, filed-emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM),
transmission electron microscope (TEM), x-ray photoelectron
spectrometer (XPS), CCD x-ray diffractometer, high-resolution mass
spectrometer (HRMS), Dual Beam-Focused Ion Beam System(FIB), Scanning
Probe Microscopy(SPM), Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer(DMA), Microwave and
millimeterwave signal generator and analyzer for channel
measurement(Channel sounder with SG and SA). Besides well-trained
assistants are hired to operate and maintain the instruments, the
professors with specific expertise are assigned to supervise and
consult the operation and service for each instrument. The Center also
has annual operation plan and review process in order to upgrade the
instruments and to provide the best and eternal service for academic
and industrial institutes in Yun-Chia area.
